Where can I park?

Parking can be found in the Pedernales Electric Co-op parking lots (201 S. Ave. F), LBJ High School (505 N. Nugent Ave.), around the courthouse square, National Park parking lot (200 Elm St), and in parking spaces streetside on those streets surrounding the courthouse, and on Main St. (US Hwy 290).
Where are the restrooms?

Memorial Park has restrooms and port-o-potties will be available for use. Port-o-potties will be located around the courthouse square and near PEC. Please see the walking map for exact locations.
Where can I eat?

Johnson City has several restaurants. Several are within walking distance of the courthouse and the others are just a short drive away. Please see the walking map for information on locations. During opening weekend there will be a food court on the courthouse square with local non-profit vendors. In addition, food trucks available on Ave G near the courthouse on various weekends throughout the season.
Where can I stay?

Johnson City has hotels and many B&Bs, AirBnBs, and VRBOs. Please visit the Johnson City Visitor Center website for more information regarding lodging.
When can I visit Santa Claus?

Santa will make his arrival at the Parade on Saturday, November 26, 2022. He and Mrs. Claus will be set up in the Gazebo at Memorial Park for photo opportunities and chats. We will provide a bench for the kiddos to sit on and visit and then they can stand next to Santa for photos. Santa will be in the Gazebo Friday and Saturday evenings through December 18th. When will the Grinch be in town?

"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more." The Grinch The next Grinch sighting will be on Friday December 16, 2022 in Memorial Park!
Where do I go to catch the hayrides or carriage rides?

Hayrides provided by the Antique Tracor Club of JC will be available for donation only - no tickets to purchase. They load up across from PEC Headquarters in the evenings. Carriage rides will begin in front of Johnson City Bank. There are several sizes and styles of carriages both 2 and 4 person. Check with the Buggy Barn for availability and pricing information. Note: These are weather dependent.
What are the dates for Lights Spectacular?

Lights Spectacular begins with the "Flip" of the Switch and Fireworks on Friday, November 25, 2022. Our town stays twinkly until January 8, 2023 from dusk to midnight.
When are events scheduled and when can I see the lights?

Please see our EVENTS page for more information. The lights can be viewed every night of the week until midnight.
On what date is the Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade, at what time does the parade start, and where should I stand to watch?"

The parade will be on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at around 6:30 pm. Come see a real "Small Town Texas" parade! The parade route is available on the parade page. Please remember to stay safe and please stay out of the road. Don't forget to keep an eye on the little ones and four legged friends during the festivities.
How do I enter the Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade?

Please check the parade page for the link to the application. There is no cost to enter. Come join the fun!
Who can participate in the residential lighting, residential inflatable and business lighting contest, what are the rules, and how do I sign up?

See Events page for an application. The contest is open to all persons within ½ mile of the city limits of Johnson City. Recognition will be given for the best decorated residences and commercial buildings. Forms should be turned in to Chamber Visitor Center or email to info@johnsoncitytexaschamber.com. Tell me more about the 2022 Chili Cook Off benefiting the Lights Spectacular Scholarship Fund.

New for the 2022 season is a Lights Spectacular Scholarship Fund Chili Cook Off. On Saturday, December 10 at the courthouse square. - Judging will be at 4:00 pm, with awards at 6:00 pm, and a street dance at 8:00 pm. Do you have a winning chili recipe ? Enter today! Can I donate to or become a sponsor of Lights Spectacular?

Yes. You can donate via Venmo or PayPal QR codes are located at the bottom of each page of the website. Also, donation buckets will be located in several areas throughout Johnson City. You may also become a sponsor. We have several different levels for sponsors.
